A BRAND new awards night with a difference was launched at Kilashee House Hotel, Naas last Thursday, March 3 with special guest, singer Michael English.
The Leinster Entertainment Awards, which are due to take place on April 18, is to acknowledge people’s contribution to entertainment and the Hall of Fame in the following categories - actors, bands, singers, dancers, drama and much more.
This is the public’s opportunity to nominate their favourite Irish or Leinster entertainer.
“The launch went really well. Michael English was thrilled with the idea. It is important that we recognise the contribution people make in the entertainment business to society and their impact on people. We want to honour some of the top acts in Ireland and it’s up to the people to nominate their favourite entertainers for the awards.
“We have some fabulous talented performers who have been travelling around the country entertaining people for years and it’s imperative that we recognise their achievements. We also want to acknowledge young up and coming acts,” said organiser, Matt Browne.
Nominations will be accepted up to March 18 and the awards night will be staged at the Kilashee House Hotel & Spa. A panel of adjudicators will decide the final award winners and there will be some amazing performances on the night. This event is also a fundraiser for local charities and those to benefit are Rehab and the Kildare Branch of Multiple Sclerosis Society of Ireland. Send your nominations by post to Matt Browne, 12 Otomny Drive, Clane, Co. Kildare or by email to leinsterentertainment@hotmail.com.
