Castledermot news

Recently a Foroige club started in Levitstown and now meets every Friday night in Levitsown community hall. At these meetings we keep track of event and activities that the club have taken part in and ones that are coming up. We also use our meetings to share our ideas on how to make the club better for everyone. Every night all the members and sometimes the leaders take part in fun activities planned by the members.

On May 11 they held their first Annual Committee elections. Each candidate had to make a speech on why they thought they should be elected for their chosen role. At the end if the night Shane Brennan was chairperson, Tara Swayne secretary, Katie Pearse treasurer and Laura Corrigan PRO.

On May 25 they held their first annual vice commitee elections. Neasa Dooley was elected vice chairperson, Louise Dunne Assistant Secretary, Amy Bryne Assistant treasurer and Chantel Smith was Assistant PRO.

They club has nine leaders who help with club activities and offer suggestions about how to run meetings.

They club would like to invite anyone between the ages of 12 and 18 interested in becoming a member of Foroige to come along to Levitstown community hall any Friday night between 7:30 and 9pm, or email
