Record Day at Top Twenty
On Saturday April 21st record stores across the globe will host a day of music, offers, exclusive and limited edition releases for ‘Record Store Day’. It is a day when people celebrate and support their local independent record store and this year, for the first time, it comes to Top Twenty in Newbridge.
Top Twenty in conjunction with Kildare-based music blog, BarryGruff, will be hosting a special set of live in-store performances from the likes of Captain Moonlight, Sive, Appo, Substance, Paul McCormack, Sea Area Forecast and more to be announced. As well as some great live performances, to celebrate Record Store Day and 25 years in business, Top Twenty will be offering 10% off all stock (excluding tickets) forthe day.
Come down and enjoy some live music from 2pm, Saturday, April 21st & support your local record shop like so many others across the globe.
Newbridge Town’s U-16 team reached the semi-final of the F.A.I. Under 16 Cup by defeating Cobh 2-1 at home on St. Patricks Day. They play Ashbourne at home on Saturday next in the semi-final and this team have already made history by being the first team from the Club to reach this stage.

KYT are rounding up volunteers who like to sing and who’d like to take part in this year’s Hop (it’s an 80’s night, as last year’s was the 70’s). If you would like to sing with the ‘Backwater Crooners’ please contact KYT.

Newbridge Community Men’s Sheds (NCMS) meet every Monday at 2pm in the Meeting
Room, Curates’ House, Chapel Lane. They are inviting men of all ages and nationalities to come

Youth Service as Gaeilge
Cumann na bhFiann is the largest nationwide youth service, running weekly youth clubs and events all year round through the medium of Irish. The club in Newbridge takes place every Friday from 5 pm- 6.30pm in Scoil Mhuire Junior School. This is an excellent opportunity to practice oral Irish through fun and games. Newbridge Local History Group
The Group’s next meeting will be an illustrated talk, On the banks of the Liffey: the Dominicans in Newbridge, 1920 to the present, and will be given by Raphael Ryan. It will take place in Sarsfield GAA hall on Wednesday, 18 April at 8.30pm.In May the Group will visit the Newbridge Barracks’ Reading and Recreation Room’, otherwise known as the Bord na Mona offices in Newbridge, one of the last remnants of the British Army Barracks in Newbridge still in use, with its original facade and structure still intact. This will take place on Wednesday 16 April at 7pm (note earlier time).
