Green light for Gaelscoil
The Board of Management of Gaelscoil Éadan Doire are delighted with the news that they have been granted planning permission for the building of a new school at Killane on a site beside the old Parochial House.
The new school will consist of eight classrooms, resource rooms, library, learning support rooms, PE Area and outdoor play areas.
The pupils and staff are currently in temporary accommodation located at the Business Park on St. Mary’s Street.
It is hoped that the new school will open in September 2013.
Claire Lynch, who is a contestant for Melbourne in this year’s Rose of Tralee was successful in winning her way through in Portlaoise last weekend.
Claire was chosen from a total of eight International Roses and she will now represent Melbourne in Tralee for that very coveted title ‘Rose of Tralee 2012’
Claire’s mum, Bernie nee McLoughlin is originally from Edenderry and currently living in County Louth.
Everybody in Edenderry will be glued to their TV’s when Claire finally takes to the stage down in the County Kerry town. They will be cheering loudly and hoping that one of our own will be taking the title home to Eadan Doire.

The Annual Parish Day will take place on Sunday, June 24 in the grounds of the Girls Primary School at 2pm. This promises to be a great family day out with loads of things to keep everyone happy. Last year’s event was a great success.

The Midlands Fibromyalgia Support Group holds meetings on the last Tuesday on every Month at the Day Care Centre, Arden Road, Tullamore at 8pm. The helpline is open on Tuesdays from 10am – 1pm, phone 1800 201068.
Youth Festival at Knock

Christening candles 3 in 1, for Baptism, Christening and Confirmation are now available at the Parish Centre at €10 each. They also have a new range of Mass Bouquets, Sympathy Cards and Get Well Bouquets for Children. Opening hours are Monday – Friday 9.30am – 1pm.
Congratulations to John Hurst who won €77 in the Parish Lotto Draw when he successfully matched 3 numbers. A total of thirteen people correctly matched three numbers. The numbers drawn were 04, 13, 19 & 29. The promoter was Murphy’s Stores.
Closing Mass at Croke Park
Tickets for the Closing Mass of the Eucharistic Congress are now available at Mangan’s Centa Shop. You can also purchase tickets on-line at www.tickets.ie
Supervised Car Parking will be available at Clonliffe College and at the O’Connell School Grounds, both are quite close to Croke Park.
The Annual Mass at Ballymacwilliam Graveyard will take place on Friday, June 29 at 7.30pm.
Offaly Local Development are offering Progression Supports on a one-to-one basis to explore your options and to design a plan for you. This support programme takes place in Edenderry and is free. The Programmes are ‘One2One’ and ‘The Way Forward’.
‘The Way Forward’ Programme is for two mornings per week for 7 weeks and is a Training and Information Programme. This course offers certified I.T. Training on all the up-to-date schemes and supports that are now available.
