RIP: Tributes paid to Kildare 'gentleman' who passed recently

The late Noel Cregan

Tributes have been paid to a Naas, Co Kildare “gentleman” who passed recently.

Noel Cregan – formerly of Golden, Co Tipperary – passed on April 18 2026 surrounded by his loving family, at home.

Noel is the beloved husband of Kay and dear father of John, Ron, Anita and Brian.

He is predeceased by his daughter-in-law Noelle; Sadly missed by his loving wife, sons, daughter, brother Denis, sister Mary, son-in-law Flor, daughters-in-law Nicola and Tanya, brother-in-law Thomas, sister-in-law Marie, grandchildren Jack, Hannah, Kate, Ena, Johnny, Luca, Chris and Isola, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Noel will be reposing at his home on Monday from 5pm to 7pm with prayers at 6.30pm.

The removal will take place on Tuesday to the Church of Our Lady and St. David, Naas arriving for 10am Mass.

The funeral is to be held immediately afterwards at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Two Mile House. Donations, if desired, to St. Brigid’s Hospice, The Curragh.

Tributes to Noel on RIP.ie include: “Kay, Anita, John, Ron, Brian, and families, I was so sorry to hear of the sad passing of Noel. I have very, very happy memories from childhood and into adulthood, and seeing the photo of him made me smile. Every time I see anything about the RNLI I think of him.”

And: “Deepest sympathy to Anita and all the families on the death of your father May he rest in peace.”

While another mourner wrote: “My Sincere condolences to Kay and family on the passing of Noel. May his gentle soul rest in peace.”

And another added: “Dear Kay, John, Ron, Anita and Brian, I'm sending our heartfelt sympathies, Noel was a gentleman and will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him. Sending you all our warmest wishes at this difficult time. All our love.”
