Tributes paid to 'one of life's gentlemen' from Kildare who passed this week

Tributes have poured in for 'one of life's gentlemen', John Farrelly, Mainham, Clane and late of 'Rye Cottage', Main St, Leixlip, Co Kildare.

John passed peacefully in the tender care of the staff of The Residence Nursing Home, Maynooth on March 4 2025.

He is deeply regretted by his loving wife Margaret, son Paul, daughter-in-law Oksana, granddaughters Jennifer and Sofia, brother Eugene, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Tributes paid to John this week included: “So sorry for your great loss. John was a great man for the chats and laughs. He will live forever in your hearts. At peace now.”

And: “John was one of life's gentlemen. We were all very fond of him in our house. Rest in peace 'John the painter'.”

While another mourner wrote: “A true gentleman. Deepest sympathy to you on the sad passing of John. Rest in peace.”

And another added: “Sincere sympathy, Margaret and Paul on the sad passing of Sean, he was such a lovely man,we will miss him. Rest in peace, Sean.”

Reposing at Oliver Reilly's Funeral Home, Woods House, Clane (W91YPX4) on Thursday from 4pm - 8pm with evening prayers at 7pm.

Removal from Oliver Reilly's Funeral Home on Friday at approx. 10am to arrive at St. Patrick and St. Brigid's Church, Clane for 10.30am Funeral Mass, followed by burial in Mainham Cemetery, Clane.
