Mary Pat Moloney keeps us up-to-date with what is going on at the Centre this month - “Relaxation morning on Friday 26th of October if you are free on the morning give yourself the gift of relaxation. We will use an number of techniques to help allow the stress fall away and awaken to a more centered, grounded and energised self. The cost is €20. Jane Donald author of Sacred Messages from Sacred Ireland is having a workshop here on Saturday next 27th October. Jane will be connecting with the Green Man and Fairy Energy and how to use these energies for your own healing. Cost €100. A Day with your Angels with Anita Manning is on Sunday the 28th October. You will learn about different angels and how they can help you in everyday life. Through guided meditation have the opportunity to meet your guardian angel. It is a day of healing and fun. €55. SOUTH KILDARE ACTIVE RETIREMENT GROUP MEETING
The October meeting of the South Kildare Active Retirement Group will take place in Moone Hall on Thursday October 25 at 8pm when they will discuss the Programme for the winter months. Everyone welcome.
ST. COLMCILLE’S NATIONAL SCHOOL
Aileen Nolan PRO writes “Commiserations to our Under 11 girl’s football team who were defeated by two points in the semi final against Johnstownbridge – the girls played exceptionally well and rose to the challenge but were very unlucky as the ball hit the crossbar twice in the second half. Thanks to Ann Glynn and Tom Wall for all their dedication training the team. The children took part in Goal Jersey day during the month and a total of €360 was raised – well done to all who donated. The Parent Association is hosting the Annual Halloween party in the Sportsman’s Inn from 7pm until 9pm on Friday next the 26th of October. All children and adults are encouraged to dress for the occasion and there will be ‘best dressed’ prizes on the night. All families from surrounding areas are welcome. Just a quick reminder that Thursday the 25th is the school’s clothes recycling event - Anyone interested in donating unwanted clean clothes, bedding, curtains, towels linens and shoes can collect bags from the school. Bags can be left in the schools GP room from Wednesday the 24th of October. The money raised through this event will go towards purchasing science equipment for the school.
REELING BACK THE YEARS-
Historic Moone as Seen through the Lens of a Camera. On Saturday November 3rd at 7.30pm at Moone High Cross Inn people can view photos of generations of people,clubs and buildings from Moone and the surrounding area. You are asked to bring along your own photos to display and chat about, and there will be scanning of photos onto computer for preservation into parish records. We would ask you to bring along any rare historic photos that they might have to show and talk about. Photos can be shared on the night as Paul O’Connor from O‘Connors photo shop in Athy will be there to scan and take orders for copies at hugely discounted prices. John Clynch will serve light refreshments, music and a taxi home within a ten mile radius.
There will also be a draw on the night in aid of Moone Senior Citizens. Thanks to O’Connor Photography Carlow Road, Athy and The High Cross Inn, in advance for there kind support. Pictures on display will be from all walks of life, sports,groups, organisations, schools and the local historic area. Videos will be played on the night including memorable dances and sporting events. Come along and enjoy. RATHVILLY GARDEN AND FLOWER CLUB
Marie Corcoran PRO reminds us that Rathvilly Garden and Flower Club will meet on Wednesday 31st., October at 8pm in St Patrick’s Sports and Community Centre Rathvilly, with Guest Paul Cutler Head Gardner at Altamont Gardens giving a demonstration on Troughs making and a talk on Alpine Plants. Admission €5.
