Insight’s production of Brian Friel’s “Translations” opens on Wednesday April
17 upstairs in the Kildrought Lounge. Performances are 8pm on Wednesday to
Saturday, April 17-20 and Wednesday to Saturday April 24-27.Tickets are €10 with a

ART FOR KIDS
Children’s art classes will take place every Saturday morning in the Mill Community
Centre for an 8 week period between April 20 and June 8. Classes for Juniors (Age 5-
8 years) will run from 11am – 12:15pm and will include watercolour, sculpture,
collage and pastels. While the Seniors (Age 9-12yrs) will begin straight after from
12:30 -1:45pm and will learn all about drawing, still life, watercolour, sculpture and
pastels. All materials will be provided for both age groups and the 8 weeks will cost
€80.
This is an excellent opportunity to introduce your child to the wonders of art,
while they enjoy the art-making process. Your child will be taught many different
techniques including painting, drawing, sculpture and more! Classes are open to
children who enjoy art and would like to develop their skills while learning about new
materials. They will be held in a safe environment where your child can explore this
creative outlet.

SHINE GROUP
Shine Celbridge Area mental Health Relatives group meets in the Acre project,
Salesian College, Maynooth Rd, Co. Kildare on the last Wednesday of every month
at 7.30 -9pm For further details contact Susan Mc Feely, Shine Regional development

The Shine information helpline 1890 621 631 is open Monday to Friday from 9am
to 4pm and can provide general information, a listening ear and specific information
about Shine services. There is also and informative website at www.shine.ie
PRAYER
The next Taize Prayer meeting will take place on April 19 in the Wellsprings Centre
on the Main Street at 8pm. This is a very relaxed event with prayer and scripture
reading around the Taize cross. Refreshments will be served.
PRIZE WINNERS
The Celbridge St Patrick’s Day Parade Committee has announced the prize-winners
from this year’s parade. The overall Commercial section winner was Partymad. In
second place was Excel Games and Xtreme Skate Park took third place.
In the community section the winning group was the Community Council Youth
Café with Men’s Sheds in second place. Celbridge Boxing Club came third in this
category.
In the Walking/Schools category firs pale went to Primrose Hill School, second was
awarded to the George McMahon Academy while Celbridge GAA Juniors received
the third prize.
The Parade Committee has thanked everyone involved in this year’s parade, which
was one of the most successful to date.
The Committee is inviting local residents to post photos and videos of the parade on
the Celbridge St Patrick’s Day Parade Facebook page.
HELP
St. Wolstan’s Conference of the St Vincent de Paul Society, Celbridge/ Straffan.
Will, on request, visit parishioners and Celbridge residents. The local Conference
provides advice, counselling, a sympathetic ear and financial assistance to those in
need of help.
SING OUT
The “Happy in the Presence” Parish Children’s Choir sings at the 9.30am Mass on
Sundays in St Patrick’s Church, led by organist Evelyn Melia. New members from
all first and second level Parish Schools, male and female, who have made their
Communion, are invited to join. Practice is on Thursdays 6 – 7 pm in room at rear of
church. Enter by gate on the right hand side. Just turn up to a practice to join.

DO YOUR OWN THING
If you are interested in sport, but don’t want to join a regular class or group, you can
do your own thing at the Sports Centre at the Mill. Book a badminton court for €10.
This is the ideal family game for 2-4 players. Racquets and shuttles are provided.
If table tennis is your thing, you can book a table from €6-€10 with bats and ball
provided. Get the gang together for a game of soccer! Price’s start from €20 for kids
and €40 for adults. A soccer ball is available at Reception.
