Celbridge Garda station change

THE Public Office at Celbridge Garda Station will have new opening hours from 1 May.

THE Public Office at Celbridge Garda Station will have new opening hours from 1 May.

The new hours will be as follows; Monday-Friday (2-6 and 7-9pm), Saturday (2-6pm) and Sunday (12 noon to 2pm).

Garda management said in a statement it has analysed visitor numbers, times and the type of business transacted at Celbridge Garda Station. “The vast majority of callers in the morning were for the collection of forms, signing of forms, the production of driving documents etc. It was felt that Garda resources could be better utilised by closing the station in the morning, thereby freeing up the Gardai for patrolling, preventing crime and dealing public disorder issues in residential areas.

“If a person needs to call to a Garda Station for the transaction of routine business, Leixlip Garda Station is open 24 hours. There will continue to be a 24 hours Garda patrol of Celbridge.

“It is envisaged that these new opening hours will give an enhanced and more visible service to the people of Celbridge.
