Planning permission has been granted for the new state-of-the-art Primary Care centre in Athy.

The primary care centre is to be constructed at the site of the former shirt factory on the Dublin Road.

“The new primary care centre will lead to a full range of GP services, HSE and Tusla facilities, meeting rooms, consulting rooms, with all primary care and community services for the people of Athy and its surroundings,” said Kildare South TD Martin Heydon.

“The decision today means we can look forward to construction commencing in the coming weeks as funding is in place and the project is shovel ready.

“I believe that this new primary care centre would be an ideal location for K Doc services which I have always thought should have a presence in the South of the County.  This is an issue that I will be pursuing with the developers, the HSE and KDoc.”
