Council works on Main Street in Naas to last seven weeks

The works extend from the Presbyterian Church to the former Superquinn entrance.

Council works on Main Street in Naas are scheduled to commence today, April 9, and expected to continue for approximately seven weeks.

The works include new ducting to facilitate the undergrounding of ESB cables and the provision of new public lighting poles and other minor civil works.

The works extend from the Presbyterian Church to the former Superquinn entrance. The appointed contractors will be liaising directly with businesses on this section of roadway with regard to required power outages and maintaining pedestrian/customer access.

According to a council statement the improvement works may cause some temporary inconvenience to businesses and members of the public, for which Kildare County Council apologies in advance.

"The new lighting and undergrounding of cables will result in a significant visual improvement to the streetscape along this section of roadway," KCC stated.
