The annual Kildare student exchange to Kentucky will coincide this year with Independence Day, July 4 2018.

This year's exchange includes Student between 15 and 18 from Athy, Naas, Maynooth, Newbridge and Dunlavin. There are three places left to fill and interested students from these areas can get in contact with Anne O’Keefe

“There are three places left to fill,” said PRO Sean Cleary.

“Students from these areas might like to join the group knowing that a friend or colleague is already included. Contact Anne O'Keefe, anneokeeffe15@gmail.com or ring 0872436595 soon if that Student is you.”

Described as one of the most successful aspects of County Kildare's twinning with Lexington, Kentucky's annual Student Exchange affords Kildare Students the opportunity to spend time with a family in Kentucky and to each welcome a student into their own home in return.

According to Sean this year it will coincide with American Independence Day and they will experience the greatest Day in the USA during their 10 day exchange.

"An adult chaperone accompanies the students. The exchange is supported financially by Kildare County Council. Programmes and activities are organised for the Irish and American Students and their local hosts in Lexington and Kildare."
