Careers evening a rousing success at Kildare Town Community School

Students from 3rd, Transition Year, 5th and 6th year and their parents attended a special career’s evening in the Kildare Town Community School last Tuesday April 30. Entrepreneurs and business people set up stands around the hall allowing the students to get a chance to chat and learn about the company’s product/service, it’s history, staff, marketing and promotion, research and development, recruitment, the ups and downs of daily operations and the requirements, both financially and personally involved in setting up their own business.

The careers and enterprises that were available on the night were those that are relevant to the students’ career preferences and their vocational subjects within the school. Many of the businesses came from sectors which are likely to be employment growth areas in the future.
