The Bord Na Móna Kildare South Chamber Business Awards were launched in the Clanard Court Hotel, Athy, recently.

“The Business Awards recognise the need to reward outstanding achievements in our county and offer 11 categories for entry,” said Lorraine Killick, Kildare South Chamber CEO.

“In addition, the winners from each category are also eligible for the overall award for the Business of the Year.”

She said companies can also nominate an outstanding staff member for the Employee of the Year category.

She pointed out the awards are open to members and non-members of Kildare South Chamber and applications are welcome from anywhere in the county.

Those interested in making nominations can fill in the online application form at

The Gala Awards Ceremony will take place on Friday, March 10, in the Clanard Court Hotel.

Pat Sammon, Corporate Communications, Bord na Móna, said the company is delighted to be the title sponsor of the awards.

“Bord na Móna is one of Ireland’s iconic companies, is owned by the people of Ireland, and is a company that places an enormous value on its bond with local communities. Part of the way Bord na Móna expresses its appreciation and support is through sponsorship of key community activities, whether they be sporting, voluntary or cultural events,” he said.

He said he hoped these awards will shine a light on “the many leaders of business, enterprise and innovation that support jobs and communities all across the county.”

The Leinster Leader has been announced as the print media partner for the awards.

“This is a great opportunity to recognise the excellent work being carried out by the business community and to celebrate their achievements, innovation and unsung heroes,” said Fiachra Gregan, Commercial Manager, Leinster Leader.

The award categories include Emerging New Business, Excellence in Manufacturing, Tourism, Charity, Corporate Social Responsibility, Hospitality, Retail/Customer Service, Excellence in Technology, Innovation Services, and Transition Year Mini Company. Tickets are now on sale. For more info, email or 045 438 489.
