Naas man David McGoff will DJ to the biggest crowd of his career when he takes to the stage at Oxegen this Saturday afternoon.
The 33-year-old from the Tipper Road, known locally from his day job at the Blue Moon coffee shop, has been DJ-ing since he was 17. He also has a weekly radio show from 4pm - 6pm every Saturday on playdublin.net. He was booked to DJ at the dance festival, which will take place at Punchestown next weekend, through contacts at promoters MCD.
David’s set will start at 3.35pm on Saturday, and he expects his slot to last for an hour and a half. He plays mostly house and tech house music, and will be in the company of of top names including David Guetta and Calvin Harris. “
“I’m a little bit nervous, a little bit apprehensive, but it’s more excitement than nerves,” he said, “but once I get going and am standing in front of the equipment, I’ll be fine.”
“The dream is to DJ full time, it’s just a very hard scene to break into.”
