Christmas gala at Naas' Moat Theatre with Nás na Rí singers

Members of the Nas na Ri Singers

Nás na Rí Singers, with mezzo soprano Norah King, will stage their second Christmas Gala Concert of choral favourites on Monday 19 December.

It is part of a two-show series at the Moat Theatre - the first one took place last Wednesday.

The concerts will be in aid of the Moat Theatre's recently launched fundraising drive — The Show Must Go On.

The Christmas Gala is a collaborative project between Nás na Rí Singers and the Moat Club. Acting PRO for Nás na Rí singers Hugh Gallagher commented: “It promises to be a very special show for the Naas community — people can expect all their favourite Christmas carols such as O Holy Night and Gesu Bambino, some rousing gospel numbers and a few surprise performances from Moat Club members thrown in.

“We’re honoured to have leading local mezzo soprano Norah King as part of our line-up and are delighted to be supporting the Moat Theatre’s fundraising drive with this concert.”

The choir is a regular competitor at major festivals throughout Ireland, including the Cork Choral Festival, the Association of Irish Musical Societies (AIMS) Choral Festival in New Ross, Arklow Music Festival and the Kilkenny Music Festival, winning several prestigious awards in recent years.

They have also performed in many parts of Europe; Germany, Czech Republic, Denmark, UK and The Soviet Union.

Tickets (€15/€12 conc.) are available from the theatre box office at 045 883030 or can be reserved directly on the theatre’s online booking system at www.moattheatre.com.
