Ireland's Eurovision contestant, Bambie Thug, has been hospitalised just days before the Eurovision Song Contest

Ireland's Eurovision entrant, Bambie Thug, has revealed on their social media that they have been hospitalised just days before the event is due to kick off.

Ireland have to qualify through the semi-finals to get the main Eurovision finals in Malmo Sweden.

The semi-finals of the event which are due to take place on Tuesday the 7th of May.

Ireland come into the contest with our best chance of doing well in years as the Irish are well amongst the favourites to impress at this years contest.

As per Bambie Thug's personally Instagram story, the Irish singer has been admitted to hospital just days before the qualifier.

The text from their Instagram reads : "I had to go hospital last night and be put on a drip because I ate some bad shellfish. I need to take the day to try and recover so I can smash my performances next week. I'm rats my costume won't be taken out for a ride. But I promise I'll make it up to you."

Hopefully this new news coming out does not hamper Ireland's chances in the competition and we can still kick on and make a good charge at the contest.
