Irish actor Domhnall Gleeson has been cast in a spin-off of popular sitcom, The Office.
The actor - who is best known for his roles as General Hux in Star Wars and Bill Weasley in the Harry Potter films - has been confirmed as the lead in the new spin-off alongside White Lotus star, Sabrina Impacciatore.
That's according to Deadline, which also revealed the spin-off will not be a reboot of the popular BBC show, which rocketed to mainstream popularity with the release of the American mockumentary of the same name.
Instead, the new project will reportedly be set in the same universe as the American version, which starred Steve Carrell as the bumbling yet loveable Michael Scott.
Although few details have been confirmed, it's thought the new spin-off will follow the same basic format of a documentary crew following the employees of a company in a brand new setting.
Carrell's The Office is still beloved over ten years after the final episode aired, and continues to be a popular choice for consumers of streaming platforms like Netflix.
Fans will not see familiar faces like salesman Jim Halpert, beet farmer Dwight Schrute and customer sales rep Kelly Kapoor in the new series, but instead will be presented with an all new selection of characters.
A previous attempt to launch a spin-off show telling the story of Dwight Schrute and his unique siblings failed to gain traction several years ago, much to fans' disappointment.
Gleeson recently starred in limited TV series Alice & Jack.
