Legendary US comedian and late night talk show host Conan O'Brien is set to make an appearance on long running Irish series Ros na Rún.

The Irish American comic will cameo on an upcoming episode on Tuesday April 30 and the show will also feature on his HBO travel series, Conan O'Brien Must Go, this Thursday, April 18.

"Getting to work with the cast and crew of Ros na Rún was a delightful highlight of my trip", O'Brien said, "and I apologise in advance for inadvertently butchering my mother tongue."

Earlier this year, O'Brien traced his Irish roots back to Galbally in Co. Limerick, which was the native home to his great-grandfather.
