The Kildare hurling team of 1966 were honoured at the recent Kildare GAA annual awards ceremony, which took place at the Celbridge Manor Hotel last Saturday night, November 19.
The team won the Junior All Ireland final that year. Kildare GAA County Board chairman Ger Donnelly made a special presentation to each of the hurlers on the night.
Kildare's senior footballer of the year was named as Fergal Conway, and Gerry Keegan took the senior hurler of the year award, making it a Celbridge double.
