Awards night

The Kildare Holstein Friesian Club (KHFC) held its Annual Herds Competition recently.

This competition, one of the club’s major events, is sub-divided into four divisions: Premier, Senior, Intermediate and Junior. The awards were presented by Brian Scully and Kenny Garry of sponsors FBD.

Nearly 40 herds participated from the club area, covering Kildare, West Wicklow, Offaly, Meath, and Dublin. Judge this year was Mark Logan, well known in Holstein circles, from the Clandeboy Estate, Co Down.

The organiser and excellent co-ordinator of the competition was Mrs Joan Lambert, the Club’s long time Secretary. The overall winner once again was the Kilwarden Herd from Kill, owned by the Cocoman family.
