Scheme provided more than €52,000 to students, Kildare County Council says

The scheme aims to support students and their families in Kildare by easing financial pressures
More than €52,000 from a bursary scheme has been awarded to 82 students this year, Kildare County Council (KCC) has asserted.
Supported by funding from KCC and the Local Property Tax, the scheme received 109 applications, reflecting the continued need for financial assistance to enable students to pursue further educational opportunities.
According to KCC, the bursary programme aims to support students and families by easing some of the financial pressures associated with both further and higher education.
Speaking about the Bursary Scheme, KCC’s director of services, Marian Higgins, said: “The Education Bursary Scheme plays an important role in supporting access to education and creating opportunities for students across our county.
“We are delighted to have awarded funding to 82 students this year and wish all recipients every success in their educational journey.”
She added: “We would also like to express our sincere appreciation to the external assessment panel for their dedication, time, and valuable input throughout what was an extremely challenging evaluation process, given the exceptionally high standard of applications received."
