On Sunday last the Jog for Jockeys five kilometre race took part in three different race courses throughout Ireland in Limerick, Leopardstown and the Curragh.
Over 600 competitors took part on the Curragh raising funds for a great cause and Newbridge boxer Dervla Duffy didn’t have as far to travel as some of her competitors to steal the female category in a time of 19.56.
Duffy not only won in the Curragh but beat all the female times out of the three at each of the courses. She was the only woman to run the 5k in under 20 minutes.
“I was delighted to take part in something I have been involved in for years. I rode in races for a few years on most tracks,” said Duffy.
