WATCH: Surprise snowfall in parts of Ireland following mini spring heatwave

There's been reports of snow in a number of counties on Wednesday morning amid heavy rain showers

In typical Irish fashion, snow has reappeared on Wednesday morning following last week's glorious weather. As Leinster and east Ulster are battered by fierce rain this morning, some parts have even had snow.

Carlow Weather's Alan O'Reilly shared this video on X of a wintry scene in North Wexford this morning, saying that Wexford and Wicklow have particularly been affected.

Some people in the comments added that there was also some snow in Laois. Meanwhile one person added: "Lovely and sunny here in Cork!"

According to Met Éireann, the rain is set to continue throughout the rest of the week becoming heavier and lighter at times. So far, Easter Sunday does look to be a brighter and drier day with just a few showers expected.
