Book Launch – “Mam” by Timmy Conway
Barker and Jones hosted a book launch for Timmy Conway’s book
“Mam” on Thursday night. It turned out to be a packed affair.
Former
EU Commissioner and former minster for finance Charlie McCreevy
performed the launch with many amusing anecdotes of his
encounters with the indominable Mary Conway Behan.
Donie Conway gave a short account of his mother’s life while Timmy
himself described some incidents from his mother’s life with the help
of the statue of St Joseph's Child Jesus which she was given instead
of her promised dowry when she went against her mothers wishes
and married the “wrong” man Christy Conway.
All in all it was a very enjoyable affair.
