The regeneration of one housing region in County Kildare 'is progressing well', according to Kildare County Council (KCC).

An update on the project was provided by KCC at the latest Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District meeting, which took place on Wednesday, September 16 last.

The discussion came about near the end of this meeting, when Sinn Féin councillor Noel Connolly submitted the following question to KCC: “Can KCC confirm what progress is being made with the regeneration of St Patrick’s Park in Rathangan, and what is the target date for completion?”

In response, KCC told Cllr Connolly via the report it presented at the meeting: “The works at St Patrick’s Park in Rathangan are progressing well.

“10 units have been refurbished, and two new build houses are substantially complete.

“A further five units are at various stages of progress.”

KCC also said: “The project completion is anticipated to be extended from December 2026 to March 2027; this is primarily due to unforeseen underground Electrical and Water Services issues which resulted in the resequencing of the works.”

Cllr Connolly replied by informing KCC that he accepted its report.
