No reports of accidents at Kildare site since installation of bollards

The junctions are located in the Athy Municipal District
There have been no reports of accidents at one County Kildare site following the installation of a set of bollards.
Kildare County Council (KCC) made the comments at the latest Athy Municipal District (MD) meeting, which took place on Monday, July 20 last.
The discussion of the site initially arose following the submission of a question by the MD’s newly-elected Mayor, Labour Party Cllr Mark Leigh.
His question read as follows: “Can KCC provide members with an update, following a two-year trial period, on the effectiveness of the temporary bollards at the Moate of Ardscull and The Three Counties, and if they plan to retain the temporary bollards?”
Speaking further on the bollards, he also informed KCC that he was aware of complaints from some people about the state of the bollards, who referred to them as looking ‘cheap and unsightly’
In response to Mayor Leigh’s query, KCC said via the report it presented at the meeting: “The MD [Office] has had no reports of accidents at the junctions since the bollards were installed.”
KCC also asserted that the MD Office is ‘looking at a permanent design option’ for the region.
