Halloween events in this Kildare MD to benefit from new LPT allocations

The allocations were agreed upon by councillors representing the Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District
Halloween events in Kildare — specifically, those planned to take place throughout the Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District (MD) — are due to benefit from Local Property Tax (LPT) funding allocations.
Councillors representing this MD agreed upon these allocations during the latest MD meeting, which took place on Wednesday, October 21 last.
The Mayor of the MD, Fianna Fáil Cllr Suzanne Doyle, nominated 2,500 in LPT funds to go towards Halloween and Christmas events in Kildare Town.
Her nomination was seconded by Fine Gael Cllr Kevin Duffy.
Separately, Cllr Duffy nominated for 2,500 of LPT funds to go towards the Monasterevin Halloween celebrations, which are being organised by Monasterevin Tidy Towns.
This suggestion was seconded by Labour Party Cllr Pat Balfe.
Lastly, Sinn Féin Cllr Noel Connolly, who appeared by virtual means, proposed that 10,000 of LPT funds go towards the MD’s roads section, in order to facilitate the installation of driver feedback and traffic calming signage at Ellistown.
This proposal was seconded by Social Democrats Cllr Chris Pender.
Following a brief discussion, the councillors agreed to accept the nominations.
