A wildlife rescue group based in County Kildare has said that it is 'in great need' of fish donations for many of its animal patients.

Taking to social media to make the appeal, Kildare Wildlife Rescue (KWR) explained: “We are in great need of fish to feed the many patients we currently have in care.”

Specifically, KWR said that it currently has over 300 patients in its care that enjoy fish as part of their diet.

“Donations [of whole fish or off cuts] can be dropped to the centre seven days a week between 9am and 7pm,” KWR added. “Large donations can be organised by emailing [email protected].”

BACKGROUND

KWR, which is also a registered charity, was established back in early 2022.

It is currently led by its manager, Dan Donoher, who is also known for his previous work with Kildare Animal Foundation.

KWR later acquired a site in Kildare Town for its base and opened it in July of that same year.

Its centre is divided into a number of areas and pens, which are specially designated for different types of wild animals.
