Supporting Students Who Have Down Syndrome In School
Nicola Hart, Information Officer with Down Syndrome Ireland is giving a free talk in Newbridge Library on Tuesday 2nd October at 7pm
The talk will cover:
The typical learning profile of a student who has Down syndrome
Promoting successful inclusion
Promoting independence.

Employability Information Session
A job coach from EmployAbility Service Kildare will be in Newbridge Library on Wednesday 3rd October from 10AM to 11AM to assist job-seekers on how they can gain support with their job search. It will also provide information on additional employment supports available.
No booking required. All welcome!
 
Kildare Readers Festival Events In Newbridge Library
As part of the 2018 Kildare Readers Festival, Newbridge Library is hosting a number of free events, including a writing competition prize-giving event, an event on the Curragh Wrens and a talk by author John O'Dwyer on the benefits both spiritual and physical of hill walking in Ireland.
 
Wednesday 3rd October: 7PM. The winners of a special writing competition in aid of the Michael Mullan Cancer Fund will be announced. All are welcome to come along, where a selection of the prize-winning entries will be read out.
Saturday 6th October: 11AM. Three local writers Orla McAlinden, Ann Egan and Martin Malone will read from and hold a discussion on their different works which explore the lives of the Curragh Wrens.
Wednesday 11th October: Hillwalker, author and National Chairman of Pilgrim Paths Ireland John G. O'Dwyer is giving a special talk in Newbridge Library on Thursday 11th October at 7PM on the benefits both spiritual and physical of hill walking in Ireland.

Grow Your Own Talk in Newbridge Library
Horticulturist Judith O'Connor is giving a free talk on growing your own in Newbridge Library on Saturday 13th October at 2.30PM. All are welcome to come along to Newbridge Library to get ideas, no matter whether they are novice or experienced or growing in containers, raised beds, tunnel, allotment etc. Those in attendance will gain ideas, inspiration and tips on growing your own.
