John MacKenna’s Jerusalem Tomorrow at the Moat, Naas

The ever prolific and inventive Kildare writer John Mac Kenna is set to return to the Moat Theatre in the coming days with a production called Jerusalem Tomorrow.

The play is being called a is “a radical reimagining of Mark’s Gospel set in contemporary times”.

Actors, singers and musicians tell the story of the life and death of one man in the words and stories of those who knew him.

The play is an adaptation for the stage from Mark’s Gospel by John MacKenna with James Gormley, Katie Jacques; Angela Keogh and John MacKenna and Lighting is by Tom Kennedy.

The Athy writer wowed audiences in The Moat when he took Leonard Cohen’s words and songs to another level in previous productions.

His words and music were given a new meaning by being performed in the style of a sermon.

This latest piece by John will no doubt being new levels to Mark’s Gospel — and all just in time for Easter! The show is presented by Mend and Make Do and will be in the Moat on Thursday evening, March 29.
