The second annual ‘Dare to Visit Kildare’ Halloween Festival takes place in Kildare Town from October 26 to 31.

The launch of the festival took place last Friday night, October 19 and organisers gave those in attendance a scary taste of what is in store.
There will be a variety of events on throughout those days, including The Silken Thomas Players presenting a performance of Dracula in the Old Courthouse.
The show will run from Saturday, October 27 to Monday, October 29 at 8pm with a special performance on Tuesday October 30 at 10:30pm.
The festival will also include mask making workshops, pumpkin carving, and crafting workshops for all ages. The workshops are just €5 per person and take place on Friday and Saturday, October 26 and 27.
Booking will be open for workshops from 8pm on Monday and Tuesday,
On Sunday, October 28, from 5pm on the Square there will be a Halloween movie for the kids followed by plenty of street entertainment from 6:30pm. This family friendly event finishes with a spooktacular fireworks display in Market Square at 7:45pm sharp.
For those who want to hang around later into the night, an adults-only Halloween movie will be shown in the Studio One from 8pm as will the second performance of Dracula in The Courthouse by the Silken Thomas Players. Last year’s festival was a great success and organisers are hoping to emulate that again this year. So get your costumes ready and prepare to be spooked this Halloween in Kildare town.
All welcome to attend.
