Moorefield retain their senior crown

Kevin Murnaghan squeezes past Mick Foley

Moorefield made it back-to-back senior titles with a three point win over Athy at St Conleth's  Park,this afternoon.

Two goals early in the opening half set up the win and when Athy lost keeper Stephen Davies to a straight red in 16 minutes the mens pointed towards Moorefield who led at the break to 2-5 treto 0-2.

Athy certainly did not lie down and two late goals got them within touching distance late on but there was no stopping Moorefield who retained their title on a final score line of 2-12 to 2-9.
