Broadford top Moorefield in 'C' final
Broadford 2-15
Moorefield 2-7
A ten point haul from centre half forward Josh O'Donoghue was enough for Broadford to secure the Westgrove Hotel U23 C hurling title after they overcame a lacklustre Moorefield to run out 2-15 to 2-7 winners.
On a bitterly cold evening it was Conn Kehoe who opened the Moorefield account with an opening minute free.
Josh O'Donoghue and Sean McKeon pointed two in a row before Kehoe leveled it again with another free.
O'Donoghue added seven points before the break, five from frees before Dylan Branigan added that all important goal.
A brilliant run from Aaron Martin saw him loose control just as he was about to shoot for goal but Eoghan Corrigan was on hand to force home a much needed Moorefield goal.
Martin and Jack Dowling had forced good saves from Eoghan Sheehan in the Broadford goal but late points from Jack Sutton, Elian Scanlon and Aedan Boyle left that nine point lead at the break.
After a hectic opening half the second thirty minutes was a rather tame affair.
Dylan Branigan and Josh O'Donoghue added points; Sean McKeon a goal.
Conn Kehoe added five points and Muiris Curtin a goal. . It was fitting that Josh O Donoghue finished off a fine performance with a 10 point.
