Munster players, from left, Mike Haley, Keith Earls, Tadhg Beirne, Conor Murray and captain Peter O'Mahony celebrate with the trophy after the United Rugby Championship Final match with DHL Stormer
Kildare man Tadhg Beirne has his hands on silverware once more after he played a crucial role in Munster's upset URC win over the Stormers in Cape Town.
It was Beirne’s turnover in the maul that clinched Munster’s 19-14 win, as he delivered in the biggest of moments for his side.
The trophy is Beirne's first in club rugby since his return to home soil from Welsh side Scarlets.
The Eadestown man won the PRO12 with the Scarlets as they beat Munster at the Aviva Stadium in 2017.
A URC medal to add to his consistently excellent contributions to his achievements with Andy Farrell's Ireland.
Beirne said post-match, "Much like Scarlets, we had massive momentum and that feeling where you just don't think you’re going to lose.
"It’s not a cocky feeling, but it’s just a confidence feeling because you know the whole team, when they’re on it, they mean business and it’s exactly like this Munster squad.
"When we’re on it, we can beat any team.
"I think everyone felt that way and we’ve proved that over the last couple of weeks."
