The SOLAS Eco Garden centre in Portarlington is really in full swing with an action packed St Patrick's bank holiday weekend of music, dancing, art, markets, carnival and great food.

David Maher of SOLAS explains: “We are so lucky to have a 5-acre site here which means we can run the carnival, St Patrick cultural events and food venue all at the same time. There really is no other single location in Ireland which has as much going on for the family as SOLAS has this weekend. For St Patrick’s weekend the Outdoor Food court is going to be open Friday to Sunday and we will have a great hot food menu including:

The SOLAS food manager Daniela and her team have put in a huge effort to having the Food court at its very best and the addition of a bright new sheltered play area makes it SOLAS the ideal location for families this bank holiday weekend.

The ‘Plant of the week’ is Clematis Armandii which is an evergreen climber bearing highly scented white, cream or light pink flowers from March to April. It needs a sunny, sheltered spot in your garden. Perfect as a cover for walls. Deep green, glossy leaves stay all year around.
