Kilcullen AFC’s Kim Turner has today (Thursday) signed for Bus Eireann National League side DLR Waves and will join up with her new team mates for this Sunday’s meeting with Cork Women’s FC. Turner will train with DLR Waves for the first time tomorrow.
Currently placed midtable in the National League, DLR Waves are the newest member of the Bus Eireann National League.
Turner has captained the KDFL representative side and guided Kilcullen AFC to FAI Women’s Junior Cup glory, KDFL Shield glory and helped them to finish as league runners up in 2013. Last November she was crowned the Kildare League’s Women’s Player of the year.

Her long and distinguished career has seen her amass an array of awards from domestic to the international stage. A member of the Kilcullen club for the past two season, she sustained a dreaded cruciate ligament injury and has battled back to full fitness. While sidelined the right winger and sometime striker took the FAI Senior Introductory coaching course and goalkeeping introductory course held by the KDFL in 2013.
She returned to the field of play with a bang midway through the last season, guiding her team to the runner’s up league position, claimed the Womens Shield, has captained the League’s Representative side, represented the Republic of Ireland Defence Forces on many occasions and most importantly scored the winning goal in this years FAI Womens Junior Cup Final to bring the first National Trophy to the KDFL.
