Rain is leading to flooding on this Kildare road

The road is located within the Clane-Maynooth Municipal District
Continued and sustained rainfall is leading to flooding on one County Kildare road.
The claim was made by Fine Gael Cllr William Durkan at the latest Clane-Maynooth Municipal District meeting, which took place on Friday, June 5 last.
The discussion about the road arose when Cllr Durkan submitted the following question to Kildare County Council (KCC): “Can KCC confirm if it has undertaken a recent evaluation of the R160 Ballynadrumny to clear drainage cuts and improve overall water drainage on this stretch of road?”

Speaking further on his query, Cllr Durkan informed KCC that there are issues occurring on this road whenever it rains, as the rainfall is leading to flooding on the road.
In response to his question, KCC told him: “The roads maintenance crews are currently preparing roads for the summer works programme.”
KCC added: “The local crew has been advised of this work and will schedule it in once there is availability.”
