Naas Hospital crisis eases as patients can return from this afternoon

Some 14 patients are being treated on trolleys at Naas Hospital today having been admitted through the accident and emergency department.

The overcrowding figures for Portlaoise Hospital and Tullamore Hospital are two and 23 respectively, according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.

The INMO also says that 540 patients are awaiting beds at hospitals around Ireland.
