Serious overcrowding at Naas Hospital for the second day running

There is a serious overcrowding problem at Naas General Hospital for the second day running.

Some 30 patients were admitted through the accident and emergency department without a bed being available there today.

This is the highest figure for any hospital in the eastern region, followed by Dublin’s Mater Hospital where 25 patients are without a bed.

In Portlaoise Hospital there a dozen patients without a bed while the figure for Tullamore Hospital is 4.

At NGH yesterday there were 27 patients without a bed.
