Garda hospitalised following hit and run incident in Newbridge

Investigations are ongoing into a hit and run incident in Newbridge, in which a garda was injured.

The incident happened on Monday, April 22, at approximately 7:20pm in the Curragh Grange area.

It is believed a black Audi car drove at the on-duty garda, knocking him off his bike and dragging him along the ground for a short distance.

He received minor injuries and was taken to Naas General Hospital.

The vehicle involved failed to remain at the scene.
