Complaints have been made about heavy lorries mistakenly driving into a Naas residential area.
Kildare County Council has been asked to relocate the ‘cul de sac’ sign at Kingsfurze Avenue “to a more obvious or visible position.”
Cllr Anne Breen said the residents have asked for this to be done “to assist in stopping heavy lorries or trucks turning into the estate in error.”
She added: “Lorries are going into the estate.”
But KCC official Brian Martin said the relocation of the sign”may interfere with the visibility of traffic signals currently located at the (Dublin Road) junction.”
He also said however that this may be reviewed again as part of the Dublin Road improvement works, which will provide cycle lanes and new bus stops along the route.
