It's wet and windy today
Met Eireann is predicting that it will be cool, wet and windy today. The rain will be heaviest and most persistent in southern counties, where there is a risk of spot flooding. The rain will tend to be more scattered and intermittent elsewhere, but some heavier bursts will still occur. Highs of 7 to 10 degrees in strong to gale force and gusty southeasterly winds.
A clearance will develop in the south and west this evening and tonight with clear spells developing and just the odd shower. Outbreaks of rain will, however, persist in the north and east. Lows of 2 to 5 degrees with gusty southeasterly winds abating. A few patches of mist will also occur.
