It will brighten up later
Cloudy and misty in many areas this morning, says Met Eireann, with a few patches of rain but long dry periods also. Clearer, mainly dry conditions in the north will extend slowly southwards as the day progresses, with sunny spells developing. However, cloudier conditions with patchy rain will linger in parts of Munster and south Leinster for much of the day. Maximum temperatures 10 to 15 degrees, mildest in the west, in light to moderate easterly breezes.
It will be mainly dry overnight with patchy rain in the southwest largely dying out. Good clear spells will develop nationwide allowing patches of mist and fog to form as winds fall light. Lowest temperatures 0 to 4 degrees, with some frost.
