Naas GAA club issues warning

Naas GAA club has warned of a paedophile living in the town.

A note issued to parents and mentors associated with the club also advised discretion.

Parents were informed that the existence of a “convicted paedophile” in Naas has been reported. It added that the gardai are “aware of the situation and we understand are closely monitoring matters.”

It urged parents to be vigilant over the coming days  “while this matter is being addressed by various agencies.”

It added: “This could be a timely reminder to talk to our children about ‘stranger danger’ without causing any undue concern.”

Naas GAA club is the largest sports club for juveniles in the town and is one of the most progressive in Ireland.

Among the club’s outstanding successes is the mentoring of most of the players who will play for Naas CBS in the All-Ireland schools gaelic football final this weekend – the first team from County Kildare to do so in the history of the competition.
