The Kildare Derby Festival Rose 2019 launch night will take place at Studio One in Kildare town on Friday, April 5, at 9pm.

The festival is now in it’s 41st year after celebrating it’s milestone 40th anniversary in 2018. Organisers are once again looking for anyone interested in participating in the queen competition to attend.

There will be lots of prizes and the winning girl will automatically go forward for entry into the Kildare Rose of Tralee.

Each year one queen is chosen to represent the festival and she then goes on to try represent Kildare in the Rose of Tralee.

The derby queen will also take pride of place in the parade during the festival and take part in various festival activities throughout the weekly programme. The committee is already working hard on the preparations.

The Kildare Derby Festival Annual Parade will take place on Sunday June 23.
