It will be blustery today with showery outbreaks of rain, mainly affecting Munster this morning. Some sunny spells elsewhere with just well scattered showers, however cloud will build later today and rain in the southwest will gradually edge up across the country this evening. Maximum temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees in fresh to strong westerly winds.
Rain will extend nationwide by early tonight with heavy falls expected leading to spot flooding, especially across the southwest and west. The rain will turn to snow for a time in parts of north Ulster with some accumulations likely. Strong southwesterly winds developing across the southern half of the country but winds will be light and variable further north. A large contrast in temperatures overnight with lows of 0 to 2 degrees in northern counties but 9 or 10 degrees in the south.
