Blessington tourist office's future has been secured following the donation of a retail unit, rent free, for the next 12 months by McGreals pharmacy. Kilian McGreal of McGreals said he is delighted to be able to accommodate the office for the next year, at which point it should have a permanent home in the Blessington E greenway interpretive centre as part of the bigger Blessington E greenway project.

“The continued support of the local community has enabled us to offer office the space, rent free. We would like to thank each and every member of the community for this support",said Mr. McGreal.

Brian Kane, director of the community employment scheme which runs the office said:

"We are delighted with the very kind offer made by Kilian and his team. It is an ideal location, near Dunnes Stores and very visible to passers by. It’s our intention to run the CES, Blessington forum support service as well as tourist office from this location".

The office had been had been accommodated for over 25 years in a unit provided by Blessington credit union but a recent directive from the Central Bank which is the Registrar of Credit Unions in Ireland, stipulated that credit unions could no longer be involved in the provision of space to anyone other than themselves.
