Overcrowding at Naas Hospital

Nurses demonstrate at the hospital last month

There are 21 patients without a bed at Naas General Hospital today, which makes it among the worst overcrowded hospitals in the eastern region.

However this is less than the 24 patients on trolleys yesterday..

There were 25 patients on trolleys at the hospital on Monday when it was the third worst hospital for overcrowding in the State - behind University Hospital Limerick and Cork University Hospital.

There was chronic overcrowding at the hospital last Monday when 32 patients had no bed.

At Portlaoise Hospital there are six patients on trolleys and at Tullamore Hospital there are 24 patients on trolleys.
