Robbers make off with haul worth €25,000 from Naas store

Thieves made off with €25,000 in clothing, shoes and cash from a Naas clothing and shoe store early today.

The theft took place at a premises in the globe retail park at Monread Road, near the big ball monument on the Dublin side of the town.

Gardai believe four people, all of them hooded, were involved in the incident which happened between 1am and 3am.

The gang cut through an emergency door and then opened a safe.

Part of the premises was ransacked during the incident.

They also caused extensive damage to alarm panels during the break-in and stole 200 pairs of shoes.

“Many raids of this type are marked by people arriving equipped with heavy duty cutting equipment, including consaws to open doors and safes,” a garda spokesman said.

Anyone who noticed anything suspicious in that area early this morning is asked to contact the gardai at Naas (phone 884300).
